Cloth diapers?!

Question

Anybody out there doing this? I've been going back and forth if I want to. What are the best brands and how many would I need? Is it worth it? Lol help me!!

I'd like to just use them at home and disposable ones away from home. How many do I need?! Hes breastfed and startin foods and water now

I use cloth diapers. I spent a little more and got Lalabye Baby AI2 diapers. It's a family owned business in Texas. They come with bamboo inserts, and you can snap the inserts or stuff them. I snap. Much quicker than stuffing. We haven't started solids yet, but I made liners, like the other commenter, out of cheap fleece blankets from Walmart

We do cloth and love it. We have already more than made our investment in cloth back in not having to buy expensive disposables. 
We have Alvas, imagine baby, nicki’s mainly. Groves, thirsties, mama koala, blueberry diapers are all really good and at are a lot of different price points. We do pocket diapers though half the time we just put the insert on top. The best advice I was given was to buy different brands and styles in the beginning to figure out what you like. Once you know, invest in the ones you like. 
If you’re on Facebook, join the cloth diapering mamas group. They have been very helpful to me. 
I honestly don’t think it’s that much effort to wash them. It’s more convenient than having to run to the store or special order diapers. We do two loads a week in a small portable washer. We have 32 diapers. We spent around $200 on our stash by buying gently used and buying a few new ones here and there. 
The main things you need are diapers, inserts, a good detergent (powdered tide is very popular), a wetbag or something to put dirty diapers in at home and on the road and a sprayer if you are doing solids now.
Regarding daycares, check your local laws. Our state requires that all childcare facilities be cloth diapering friendly.

We do half and half. At home we use cloth and then when out we use Honest Company (trying to keep doing the amount of nasty chemicals that come into contact with hime). For cloth diapers, I bought covers on Amazon and then we use a diaper service. They pick up the dirty diapers and deliver clean diapers once a week. It's awesome!

I’m 6 months it cloth diapering and it’s been great. Was a bit of a learning curve at first as there are sooooo many kinds but I was able to find an educational workshop in my area for $5 that went a long way in helping me figure out what kind to go with. I went with all in ones as I can’t stand the thought of stuffing diapers all the time. Turns out the daycare down the street supports cloth diapering so that was exciting news too. And it was a game changer for those early infant poops. My baby had rocket powered poops for the first 5 months and disposables were a nightmare any time we tried them the poop just flew out of them. It was so much laundry washing outfits but cloth diapers kept it all in soooo much better!
Got a lot of mine used and saved quite a bit of money that way

Just something to think about, depending on location, if you plan to have your child go to daycare at any point, many in my area won’t cloth diaper, they only do disposable. So you may have to do a combo of those things are in your future plans. (Again, your location and childcare plans may not be an issue, but just something to know to look for ahead of time)

I do. I use LPO and Mme&Co. They are both Canadian companies. I have 30 for now but i’m home so I have the time to do the extra laundry might buy a few mores when I go back to work.  I invested maybe 250$ because I bought them new (you can always buy the used some are sometimes barely used). 
I do feel like its worth it money wise (and obviously better for the environment) but it is more time consuming (the laundry and also putting them back together if you have the pocket diapers).  I also plan on using them for my second child and then either selling them or giving them. 
I honestly love it.

Yup. This will be my second baby doing cloth with. I use Alva pockets with flour sack towels. I bought a set of 50 diapers off eBay for $198. Don’t necessarily need that many but it’s nice to have extra so I don’t have to wash as often 
If you decide to cloth skip the microfiber inserts. They suck. The pee just gets squeezed out the sides when pressure is put on them. And get a diaper sprayer to attach to the toilet. It’s a life saver when baby starts solids and you have to get the poop off the diaper before it goes in the washing machine   Liners in the diaper also help with the poop situation (I cut up one of the cheap $2.50 fleece blankets from Walmart) lol
