Burgundy hair! ♥️ Questions for those with burgundy hair or hair dressers ♥️

I’m debating to color my hair a dark burgundy. I haven’t colored my hair in four years and it is my natural color now, which is a golden brownish red color, so I’m a little hesitant to color it bc I’ve worked so hard to grow it out healthy. My husband is against my coloring it bc he likes my natural color 🙄 so I’m doing some research so I don’t regret it! Have a few questions!

1. Is burgundy hair color hard to maintain? Does it fade quickly?

2. Would my natural hair color be easier to color over and achieve a burgundy shade bc I have red tones?

3. How do I know which shade of burgundy to go with? I have a pink/red tone to my skin and my natural hair is warm tone

4. Could I just do a few burgundy lowlights? Is that even possible?
