questions about my period

i’ve only had my period for 6 months. i have a super heavy flow, i usually have to change out a super tampon every hour. i also go through a whole box in a week. when i’m not on my period i have really bad discharge. my mom says to wear a pad for it but i absolutely hate pads and they always mess up when i wear them. is it normal to have discharge this bad? what do i do??
