Nurse Mamas

Ch

First of all, sorry about the double post in one day! This is for all my fellow mamas who are nurses or work 12 hour shifts. Here is a quick backstory, I was working at my previous hospital for 3 years, had my baby boy, then we moved to a new state for my hubby’s job. Therefore I have not gone back to work yet, and didn’t plan to until probably January. However, I’m now thinking I may want to go back a little earlier. I love being at home with my guy, but I need to get out of my house for at least 2 days a week, and actually feel like I have my identity, plus I know NOONE here. Soooo my question is, working 12 hour shifts, or more, and breastfeeding.... how often do you pump at work? And how do you go about storing it? This is my biggest concern because I want to continue breastfeeding, but I also know how crazy some shifts can be with no time to even eat lunch. So I can’t imagine having time to pump multiple times a day. Also, do you guys just schedule your shifts in a row, so you knock them out? While I was pregnant, I typically did 2 on, 2 off, 2 on... etc. but I feel like I would want differently now that I have my little guy!

Anyways thanks for listening to my rambling! I appreciate any feedback :)
