We started dating as 15 year olds, moved to Washington DC together, and now moved across the country together 🥰

He SHOCKED me with a proposal!! Since we've been together so long, we've been very transparent with each other during the ring shopping process. So, last the jewelry store told us, it could potentially take 3 months once he ordered it. So I honestly had nooooo idea this was coming.

He took me to the very first beach that we ever stepped foot on together in California. In March 2018 he was interviewing for a job and we flew out together and stayed an extra day to explore. During that day, we went to this beautiful beach which had a creek/river cutting through it and it dumped right into the ocean. I remember running down to the water and laughing with him; purely enjoying my first time ever seeing and touching the Pacific.

So on Friday we went to that same exact spot. We talked about our first time coming here and how badly we wanted to move to California. We admired how the beach had changed in the past year and a half and just reflected on this last year and the move we made. At one point I had my back to the ocean, pointing at some cliff and talking about who knows what. Then I hear, "Rachael..." and I turn around to see him down on one knee, holding my dream ring and I was speechless 😭🥰
