Day 1 post egg collection - 11 fertilised. What should I expect next?

I’m feeling ridiculously excited, I have 11 fertilised eggs. We have transfer scheduled for day 5 and I was just wondering what will happen between now and then - is there an average number of the fertilised eggs that still won’t make it?

My doctor told me that normally 40 percent that fertilize make it to day 5. My clinic only does frozen transfers. More often than not more can make it. She told me that percentage just to give me a heads up. 11 fertilized for me as well, there were 3 on day 5 to freeze. 2 more pulled through on day 6 and 2 more on day 7 with a total of seven embryos that were frozen. I transferred one frozen on the 22 of August. 4 days later I got a positive.

Everyone is sooo different but definitely expect to lose some.
We had 12 retrieved and 9 fertilized.
We had one for a fresh transfer and were able to freeze 4 so we had 5 total.

Numbers vary greatly but on average they say you lose 1/2 at each step. My clinic was not one that called on day 3, the wait was excruciating!!! Lol. Mine were retrieved: 9, mature: 8, fertilized: 8, day 5: 5, transferred 2 and currently 22w+4 with a singleton. My bestfriend however had 18 retrieved and only had 2 left by day 5 (I don't remember the other details). Good luck!!! 🤞

Everyone is different so theres no way of telling but they are damn good number ,alot of clinics call on day 3 so you might get a better idea then . Good luck 🤞

Expect to lose most of them and you’ll be happy with what’s left. I had 7 fertilized and only 1 made it. I wish I had lower expectations going in.

Every clinic is different. I only got a fertilization report and I didn't get another one until a week after retrieval.
