Pre eclampsia??

Question

I went to the doctor today and my blood pressure was around 140/70. The doctor might think I have pre eclampsia, so she have me a jug to urinate in for 24 hours to make sure everything is okay. I kinda been stressed out and I was wondering can that cause that. Please help

I have had preeclampsia with both my other pregnancies so they are assuming I am going to enter that this time as well. For me things don’t get too bad until 37+ weeks and then they induce me as soon as they see any changes in my levels. I have twice a week non-stress tests and they check my bp. I also have a monitor and I check it daily. My bps have been lower then 135/85 so my doctors aren’t stressing yet, but my last delivery I got up to 150+/90+ at 38w and they induced me. Monitoring it is the best course of action. And I personally have had no poor outcomes due to preeclampsia, but my doctor keeps me on the side of caution. They also place me on modified bed rest at 36w or so. Attempting to stay calm will help and mild walks and paying attention to what you are eating helps.

Pre eclampsia is pregnancy induced high blood pressure. There’s nothing you can do to prevent it and the only way to cure it is to deliver the baby. I had it during my last pregnancy and was induced at 38 weeks. You’re at a higher risk of getting it if you’ve had it before or if your mother had it for you. Im being monitored closely for it during my current pregnancy but so far I haven’t gotten it. It’ll be okay, just keep an eye out for the signs: head aches that don’t go away with Tylenol, floaties or changes in vision, protein in urine, high blood pressure, upper quad pain and swelling. If your doctor suspects you have it they’ll monitor you closely. It’s definitely better to be extra cautious if they suspect you have it or if you do have it because left unmonitored it can be fatal to you and the baby. Not saying that to scare you, it’s just a serious thing. Good luck!

My doctor just had me purchase a blood pressure monitor on amazon so I can track it every morning.. usually stress, food intake can make the numbers go up.. 
I had just came back from Vegas with air of bad salty food and it enough hydration and my numbers were up but now it’s back to normal

That seems a bit extreme. Mine was 142/78 and she just had me come in for another check a few days later to see if it was still high. It went down so I didn't have to do anything else. Seems weird to jump straight to extra testing if that was the first time it came back high esp since 140 is considered the minimum for being high. I assume they are checking your urine for protein with the jug but they normally do that at every appointment in my experience. Anyways if it doesn't keep getting higher you will be fine. Just may have to induce early if it gets too high.

I went in to get evaluated last night for 165/105, and they didn’t seem too concerned since (1) it went down, (2) I haven’t had any other classic symptoms except excessive swelling in my feet/ankles, and (3) baby seems to be getting sufficient oxygen, which is a primary concern. 
I’m also doing the 24-hour collection and expect to be closely monitored if I have other instances of high BP.
I wouldn’t panic (I’m telling myself the same thing!) but do keep a record of any of the symptoms they mention, even if they seem like normal pregnancy symptoms at the time. When in doubt, speak up! 
Hopefully your test will come back negative and all will be well. Others have had elevated or high BP on occasion in third trimester with no other difficulties.
