Anonymous • I haven't been having sex so I'm not worried about pregnancy but I think my birth control is failing I'm on week 4 and this week is suppose to be the week I have my period but it hasn't came should I go to the obgyn?

Posted at It’s not failing. Ur withdrawal bleed/“period” can come at anytime during that week, from the first day to the last day. Plus, one of the ways hormonal birth control works is by thinning the uterine lining, which can sometimes result in little to no bleeding. Also, if u have been on the birth control for less than 6 months, then ur still in the adjustment stage, in which irregularities are normal during that time.

Posted at BC is supposed to make your periods shorter and lighter, so if you still haven’t started but have been taking it everyday then just keep taking it.
