Is AIT mailing address different from the basic training address ??

The last time I heard from my boyfriend (both written and spoken) was on August 18 when I went to see him for his turning green ceremony. I moved into my college dorm the day after I got back so he knew if he mailed anything I wouldn’t receive it. I was barely able to get my P.O. Box early last week and sent him a letter. It takes about 8 days to get a response back since it’s 4 days to Georgia & 4 days sending back. I haven’t heard from him still and I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight on this.. I’ve been told most soldiers are allowed their phones after basic training but Fort Benning is very strict /:

My husband was in basic In Oklahoma and AIT in Georgia. But after basic, he got his phone back and I didn’t have to worry about letters anymore.

1st and foremost unless he is 11b or his AIT is at Benning then his address would be different from basic.  If he is at Benning for basic/AIT the drill sergeants on sand hill and main post are assholes (i was stationed at Ft. Benning on Kelly Hill [3d ID]) so he may not have the time to write back right away.  Give it a little time and im sure youll hear back soon

In AIT you’re under new leadership, new squadron, etc so it’s very likely he either A) moved barracks or B) is in the same barracks, but the letters need to be addressed to a different squadron name
It’s very likely he moved into AIT barracks and has a completely new address. Also, the first few weeks of AIT are very much like a “basic training part 2” where you have to earn privileges like writing letters and using your cell phone. If he does get cell phone privileges, it will likely be a few weeks into his training on the weekends during a set time frame. If anyone breaks any rules, etc in is squadron/unit or whatever, that one person could ruin EVERYONE’S taste of freedom. Just be patient, he will call you as soon as he’s able to. AIT is extremely accelerated and the schedule is very busy for soldiers. They do nearly everything they did in basic training, but now they also have to focus on 6-12 hours of schooling everyday while maintaining good grades.

He also could be busy studying and not have time or his phone. If he is infantry dont expect him to have his phone.

Ait and basic are different depending on the job. If it is osut then its the same usually. For me i was in basic.in Missouri and AIT in Texas.
