Pregnancy Chalkboard Pictures - Question?

I bought a chalkboard for week by week pictures. The original chalkboard must have had some sort of coating on it because the paint from the pens would just bead up and never dry. So my husband and I painted over it with chalkboard paint. We used it last night and when we go to clean the board off the paint doesn't totally wipe off, we had to use a magic eraser and even then you could still see the old writing. Anyone else using a chalkboard for weekly pictures and having this problem? What's your secret? Thanks!

You have to "prime" the board usually. After the chalk paint is dry, you rub normal chalk all over then wipe it off. After that it should work. If you don't, it leaves ghost images like what you're seeing.

Those aren't for chalkboard. Whoever adversited it that way was incorrect. I painted my fridge with chalkboard paint and we use these - picture below. They wipe off very easily - it takes me a few wet wipes to get it off my fridge.  You also need to prime the chalkboard - get a chalk stick and rub it all over.
