Have you started your 5 month old/almost 5 month old on solids yet?

Question

My 5 month old is grabbing at our food and tries to put it in her mouth. Dr suggests waiting until shes 6 months but she wants it so bad!

So far we've done baby oatmeal, toast, eggs, watermelon and banana. Gonna try peanut butter and fish soon! Trying to get the high allergen foods in before 6 months on pediatrician recommendation.

I have to do a weight check at 5m (in a couple weeks) so I’m curious to see if Pediatrician wants me to start for sake of calorie intake. My LO is EBF right now. I would prefer to start at the recommended 6m but for health of baby I will start sooner as needed. She is showing the “signs” but she wants everything in her mouth so it’s hard to tell 😄

My 4.5 old son eats soilds 4oz every other day between feeds as his goúter!

We have given her plain applesauce and plain mashed potatoes (just potato flakes and breastmilk). We put some on a plate on front of her and let her play and eat it as she wishes. Not every bight though.
