BFP... after my period?

I had my period last week. Or what I thought was my period. My husband and I have been ttc, so of course I have been reading up on everything under the sun and taking tests every 10 minutes. This has been going on for a few months now. 
The last time we did it was 3 weeks ago to the day. So during that time I was testing, which all came back negative. So I continued to live my life, drink my wine, because what else would a teacher do? Then last Thursday (just as expected) I got my period. I figured it was my period since all tests were negative and it was heavy. After 4 days it ended and I didn’t take any other tests. Today while driving home from work I had a weird urge to take a test. So I did and here we are. 
My husband and I are so excited! But still confused on the period part. I am familiar with what the internet says about implantation bleeding, but this was much heavier. 
Any thoughts?

If it was heavy definitely go to the doc ASAP.

I would go to the doctor, sometimes periods can still happen for whatever reason, or it can be other things. Either way, I’d want the doctor to check on things.

Not to be negative, but you could have had what’s called a chemical pregnancy. Please go to the doctor.

I can relate to this with my daughter I had a 4 day period and had implantation spotting 2 days later 😂 she’s 3 they were so confused about my dates 😭 it ranged from 1/7/2019 to 1/11/2019 and I didn’t even get a postive until around 4 days late for my (next period) and that’s just normal in my family ig (hyperactive ovaries) so my mom had her period the whole pregnancy with me, and my aunt until 4 months with my cousin. I only had 1 but I spotted a few times through my pregnancy as well .  All these ultrasounds were in the sane week within 2 days of eachother heart beat on was first then the official looking one, then the gummy bear looking one. (She kept hiding in the back of my uterus (retroverted uterus) so they couldn’t even find her with out my help with a vaginal and had to measure her with a abdominal one because they could see her with the vaginal at all based on how far back and to the left my uterus was.  But she is 3. So yes you can have a period while pregnant or a bfp after period or have your period and still have a healthy baby.

Go to the doctor. This happen to me where I got negatives and after a regular period got very dark positives and turned out I miscarried. Best to get check out as soon as possible. Best of luck.
