When interested in alternative fashions

It's annoying that people think it's a costume or that you're doing it for attention.

I'm interested in vintage fashion (1950s and 1960s think jackie kennedy-onassis) and most comments are positive, but it's just odd how many people feel they need to negatively comment on my dress. How does it affect you that I like to wear dresses and skirts with wrist gloves and pillbox hats etc.

Like people think it's fine if you wear a fit and flare dress with kitten heels but as soon as you add stockings, cone bra, wrist gloves, a french twist in the hair, and a hat they're like "oh no you're crazy.

I've heard similar things from people that are goth, street style, lolita etc.
