Ubbi vs Diaper Genie?

Question

Diaper Genie has specific trash bags but is cheaper. Ubbi is versatile with trash bags but is way more expensive. And what about odor control? Which pale holds the most diapers yet still controls odor the best? What’s everyone’s preference on which is the better deal?

You can used the off brand bags in the Genie. We do and they work great and fit great! You cannot smell anything!

Neither, I plan to get the Dekor brand. I had diaper genie in the past and although it kept the smell in, I found myself having to shove the diapers through the shoot and that’s gross.

Our Ubbi Diaper Pail reeks after 18 months of use. No matter what I do, it doesn’t contain the smell well (especially for a $70 trash can!!). It was great the first year, after that nope.

My BEST advice for these things is ONLY PUT THE POOP DIAPERS in there. Pee diapers surprisingly don't stink up the garbage. Also, breastmilk poop doesn't stink up your garbage either. So those I put in the regular trash. I only put formula poop diapers & solids poop diapers in our diaper genie & we don't have to by nearly as many genie trash bags.

Ever since my daughter starting eating regular food, her poop stinks and the ubbi pail stinks too. We have to empty it every day so the house doesn’t smell like poop.

Diaper genie is waste of money. You can just use a regular trash can with a lid. We rarely use our diaper genie now and once you run out of fillers you wont use it

Ok we have both. Genie for my first and ubni for the second. I love love love the ubi so much better. We haven’t had baby 2 yet (today I will) but using it with my 23 month old dirty diapers and no smell.  Plus over time you save money by not buying the stupid refill bags

I have a diaper genie and I can use many different brands with it. I’ve had it since my son was born and he’s now a year and 7 months. It doesn’t stink or anything. I’ve only deep cleaned it maybe 5 times. I put pee diapers into Walmart bags throughout the day and tie it up tight then throw it in our trash at night because they don’t stink. Breastfed poop doesn’t stink it up either but I still preferred it in the diaper genie.
