Are you happy with your IUD?

I now have a 7 day heavy period, get crampy during and after sex, and it poked my man during some loving! Ergh it's so irritating to go through all this just so I don't get pregnant😠

I have Paraguard. I get really heavy periods and cramps that are really painful but it's only for a week and ibuprofen helps a lot. Also, it's hormone free so I really like that I'm not possibly messing with my bodies natural hormones. As for my boyfriend, he says that it pokes him when we have sex but he says the wire has softened since I got it in 2 years ago and I can always get it cut shorter if it becomes a problem. I don't have to worry about it either just an acassional check to make sure the wire is in the same spot but my boyfriend helps with that (:
Overall I'm really happy with it and it's not a problem for me.

It didn't do its job. I'm now pregnant

It could have been placed wrong. I love mine and have had no problems, for the first 6 months I bled heavily, but then I started to go back to normal and now (4 years later) there light. A friend however had loads of trouble with hers and had it removed, a year later she had it put back in but switched from the hormonal to the non hormonal and she's fine. Another friend also had a few issues with hers but went to her doctor and they reattached. Id say get it checked by an alternative doctor, probably a sexual health nurse over a standard one ;)
