Breastfeeding regression?

Is this a thing? So my daughter is almost 5 months old and has started to not latch well and chew on my nipples! It all hurts like we just got home from the hospital. I try and take her off and correct her latch, but she just pulls back to the nipple. I have not made another appointment with a lactation consultant yet but may have to in the next week if things don't change. I've honestly thought about ending our breastfeeding journey over it.
