Heavy bleeding 4 to 5 weeks pregnant

I discovered I was pregnant recently and after getting over the shock became excited. I began spotting pink last week just a small amount (watery almost) then yesterday I had more than normal which was darker. I decided to go to the hospital and when I got there the blood was then red and heavier. I lost a lot of blood yesterday but the doctors said that my test still was positive and my hcg count was 293. They did a scan with me which also came back inconclusive as they could see something which could either be a sac, blood/fluid but they could not see a fetal pole. However they suggested I would more likely be only 4-5 weeks along therefore couldn’t decide anything definitive. They sent me home and I am now waiting to go back for more bloods to see if my levels are higher or lower after 48hrs. My mind is everywhere as I have since bled less but it is still like a period and have lost a considerable size clot (probably about pound coin size) but nothing massive since. Really don’t know what to think, is there anyone who has had this and baby been okay? Terrified isn’t the word for what I’m going through right now.
