Membrane sweep vs cervix check?

People who’ve had membrane sweeps, would you say it’s much more uncomfortable than a cervix check in late pregnancy or during labor? Those were always pretty uncomfortable/boarding on painful for me. My doctor is talking about doing a sweep if I’m dilated enough closer to due date. 
I know they don’t always work but hoping for Vbac and medical induction isn’t an option, so considering other options.

It’s really quick, not much more than a check.  Basically, it’s a cervix check with a quick finger swipe (instead of just a poke).  If that makes sense.  Obviously can be a little more uncomfortable and more crampy after since there’s more jabbing on the cervix.

I mean it’s a tad bit more uncomfortable than a cervix check but my two previous ones worked literally almost right away so it’s worth it to try.

I had a membrane sweep at 40 weeks and I didn't feel a thing. I had my daughter the next day.

I was actually in labor when they did mine so my experience might not help, but it hurt so bad! I was in tears!! Don’t want to Expe that again!
She checked me and I was already 4 cm dilated but just went ahead to do the membrane sweep anyway.
