Which should I get?

I found a 50 dollar Best Buy gift card I got for Christmas and I’m in debate between these two very different things, which should I get and why or why not?

Ear thermometers aren’t accurate enough for Baby. And they HATE them.

I have the Kinsa adult thermometer and it's complete trash. Absolutely a waste of money.

I liked the Kinsa because it connects to an app on my phone and I can track temps. Especially helpful when we had two back to back ear infections at 102-103 degrees. But on newborns, you have to take temps textually for like the first six months because the ears are not reliable. We didn’t buy the Kinsa until about 7-8 months and I found it at Target for like $30. 
However we got a Hatch Baby Rest and that’s probably been some of the best money we’ve spent on the nursery. It was $60 I think at Target but you connect it to an app on your phone as well and you can change the sounds, light, and volume from another room if need be and you can also set it to turn on/off with specific lights and sounds for toddlers to know when to get up out of bed.

You could get a cheaper thermometer like 10$ and it works just as good. The soother was a life saver for me.
