What is this is it normal for 2day old baby

So I was changing my daughter and she had this thick discharge in her diaper. She is two days old. Just want to know if this is normal. I have a son so learning everything for a girl now.

Looks normal to me. Baby girls also sometimes have blood in their diaper a couple days old like a period. I don’t remember why or what it’s called but they should’ve told you about it.

Though I’ve never seen anything like this with my daughter doctors do say baby girls can have vaginal discharge or even blood due to your hormones still in their system. Don’t ignore though if it persist tell your pediatrician

Not sure about this but dont be freaked out if you see a little blood. Its freaked me out with my DD. Its called a "mini period" I believe.

I know they say girls can have some flushing of our hormones after birth which can cause some discharge.  If you’re worried just call ped. I find I feel dumb over 50% of the time questioning what is happening or what to do, and after 3 years/ pregnancies...I’ve embraced it 😜

It’s normal in little girls. Discharge and blood because of the hormones.

Discharge in her diaper? I’d say no. But idk. It’s been six years since I’ve had a newborn.
