Flu shot?

I’ve never had a flu shot and it’s never been an issue for me. Last year my husband, and my baby, and I all got the flu. I honestly wouldn’t have even known that’s what we had except that my daughter (under a year old) had a wellness checkup that day and they tested her for the flu. She barely showed any symptoms and was completely fine. But no my husband is worried and wants her to get a flu a shot this year. Does anyone know the pros/cons of this?

No. And I work in an elementary school and my husband is a paramedic. It's just a guessing game as to which strain they vaccinate for and usually they're wrong. I dont feel the need to put extra junk in my body or my kids body for the hell of it.

There are so many strains of the flu that they just guess what strain MIGHT be in your area during flu season. So there’s a chance that they choose the right strain but more than likely they don’t and you’re getting vaccinated for a strain you never even come into contact with.

Flu shot is only 10% effective this year, if you consider them to be effective anyways lol

I would say, if your daughter acted completely fine and barely showed any symptoms of the flu, then her body and immune system did exactly what it was supposed to do! 
If you get her the flu shot, you could be injecting her with a strain that isn’t even relevant this year. Pretty much every year, I feel like they say that the shot is ineffective against the strain of flu that is going around this year. 
We have never got the flu shot, and none of us have ever had the flu. If we have, it was no worse than a cold, and we didn’t know it.

I had a really weird reaction to the flu shot last year.. out of body anxiety etc. i assume from mercury in the flu shot even though they claim it doesn’t contain any.. it coincidentally lasted two weeks which is the amount of time it takes the flu shot to give you the antibodies and clear your system.. I don’t think I’ll be getting one this year but I’m very conflicted about getting one for my daughter I’m stuck in between better safe than sorry and well what if she feels some type of way when she gets it.. I never used to get flu shots until 3 years ago when I started working in healthcare.. and even then they don’t make it a requirement.. I’m sure I’ve had it as a kid maybe a few times but I can’t recall ever being completely knocked out by the flu.. like someone else said they guess what strain is going to hit hard and vaccinate against that.. sorry totally rambling but I know people that don’t get any shot and get the flu I also know others who get the shot and still get the flu which yes I am aware that it doesn’t stop you from getting it just supposedly lessens the effects.. seems like it’s just a gamble you have to take.. probably wasn’t very helpful but just thought I’d share lol

The flu can be really dangerous. It’s awesome that your daughter barely reacted last time. But many kids get really really sick from it, and some die.  We get flu shots - it protects us, our community, and vulnerable people in our lives. Without the flu shot, every flu season would be like this coronavirus situation, except with probably even more deaths.  There is no scientific evidence that the flu shot harms people. There is tons of evidence that the flu harms people and kills people.
