Families & exes?

My man broke up with his ex about a year and a half ago. 
She posted a photo for back to school day, and his sister said “I miss you wish I was there”.
I’m not mad. Just wondering why this relationship is still ongoing. 
Should families let go of exes too?

I wouldn’t say totally normal. 
But depending how long they were together, her and the sister could have formed a friendship. I know many people who get along with their SO siblings especially when close in age and they all hung out a lot.

Nobody has to end their relationships just because a relationship ends for a couple. People are allowed to remain friends with people they care about, regardless of whether or not it’s a family members ex.

i wish they would lol. my in laws are still friends with THREE of my fiancé’s exes and insist on inviting them to our major life events :) it’s a huge fight every time

I'm closer with my ex boyfriends family than my husbands entire family. It's been almost 10 years since my ex and I broke up, and I've been with my husband for 7.

I go through this with my boyfriends family constantly. In the end I guess it’s none of our business but that doesn’t make it hurt any less. If you can focus on forming your own relationship with his family.

My BIL is best friends with my husbands ex/the girl who broke us up numerous times/the girl who took advantage of my husband. BIL asked to bring her as his plus one to our wedding (even though he didn’t get a plus one). It’s annoying af but there’s not much I can do besides say I don’t want my children around her

I wouslnt say super normal but I wouldn't say weird either. I'm still friends with my cousins ex. We became very good friends and her and I still talk. I don't know how he feels about that. He has never said anything to me. But I think sometimes it happened and people click. Especially if the relationship ended on good terms
