Braxton hicks

1st time prego here. Just learned that I've been experiencing braxton hicks contractions for a couple weeks after doing a non stress test today. I had no idea what they felt like before and assumed the tightening/hardening of my stomach were baby girl pushing her body up against me. I also assumed braxton hicks would be uncomfortable feeling, which is why I probably didn't recognize I had them. ANYWAY, I thought other novice pregos may not understand what they are either. I'm hoping I'm not the only who didn't realize!
