Bad Words? Do the words "whore" "slut" & "hoe" offend you?

So, my boyfriend is amazing, he treats me better than any other guy, it's a relatively healthy relationship so far (like, over 2 months talking, over a month official)

Well, in the past I was with someone emotionally abusive, and that person used to scream at me for hours, shame me for everything sexual i ever did with anyone else, get in my face, he would call me a slut pretty much every day in very threatening ways, and he was extremely manipulative so I didn't leave, he called me other names a few times.

Fast forward to today, my now boyfriend used the word "whore" and I don't think he thought about how it's demeaning to women specifically, or that it's very sex negative, I think he just used it casually, but sort of in reference to an actual prostitute... who im not ok with shaming, but, it's a thing people do.

Anyway, it really hurt to see my boyfriend, who I love, say such a horrible word, it felt like I got punched in the heart & got scared that one day he would call me that if he doesn't even know how shitty that is. I thought about leaving him because I never want to be called that again, and to me, it's always unacceptable to refer to someone like that.

I talked to my bi friend who hates the word "faggot" but he said he didn't see anything wrong with those words, really, but he'd never call a woman those things.

Anyway, what do you guys think about this word? Can I trust someone who says that word? Should I tell him about my past with that word? Am I overthinking it cuz i was triggered the first time in this relationship?
