Toddler wants to be carried everywhere
My 2.5 year old daughter throws a fit when she wants to be carried by daddy. Part of the problem is that daddy begrudgingly obliges. He’ll put her down briefly, she’ll scream and cry, and he’ll eventually pick her up. He often does so because we have somewhere to be or people are staring. She’ll even do this when we have a stroller for her. Although we’ll get her into the stroller, she’ll scream, but eventually pipe down. But for her to walk turns into a tantrum to be carried.
So today we tried something new: Daddy carried her for a block, and put her down to walk a block, and so on. We prepped her saying this is what we’re going to do. We committed to it, and she screamed every time he put her down and borderline dragged her for one block just to pick her up again.
