Levels of pain vary from woman to woman. If you get super painful period pain, it's definitely worth mentioning it to your doctor/gyno as it could be a symptom of something like endometriosis

My cramps get so bad I vomit and then pass out.

I actually had to go to the doctor and have him write a note stating I may not be able to come in during the first few days of my menstrual cycle due to vomitting. He had to state it was not a one time scenario and that I may have to miss monthly. None of the pain medicines prescribed had effect.

It's a legitimate thing for a lot of women, even without having a medical condition. Sometimes my cramps are so bad I get nauseous and light headed. Prescription pain pills are the only thing that helps when they're like this, and if I take those, I'm too out of it to work. I work for a woman and I'm fairly certain she would laugh at me if I called in because of cramps.
