Transitioning
Hi ladies! Very thankful to have this board. My story: first time mom to 5 week old. At 2 weeks he hadn't gained back any of the weight he'd lost after being born. After several lactation consultations and weighted feed, found out he's only getting 1-1.5 onces total per nursing session and was tongue tied. Since then. I've been nursing, pumping, and supplementing each feed with a bottle of 2 oz of either formula or breast milk (depending on what I've pumped). While I love nursing, I'm tempted to go to exclusively pumping since my current process is so time consuming and I'll be going back to work in two months anyway. 2 questions...
My supply isn't great (get 1-1.5 oz per pumping session after nursing) - and I'm concerned it will drop more since I've heard pumping isn't as efficient. Any experiences with maintaining or increasing supply during the transition? (I pump 6-8 times/day, taking fenugreek, tried a power pump session today )
Anyone have a similar experience with transitioning for this reason? Worth it or have regrets? I worry I'll miss out on bonding
