To do PGS (genetic screening) or not??

Question

I have a blocked fallopian tube and we've tried TTC for over 2 years now without success even with an IUI. we decided to move forward with IVF. it was suggested that we try the genetic screening but it's close to an extra $5,000! Just wondering if anyone regretted not doing it or was glad that they did do it? (Hubby's bswimmers are fine, it's just me)

We did not do it mainly for financial reasons, although my husband was against it either way. He was too bothered by the fact that we could discard embryos that might self correct.  We transferred two day 6 embryos (FET) and I am 9w4d with a single. I am 38yo.

We did it and I’m so glad we did. My number one embryo that was graded 6BA out of my 4 embryos is the only one that came back abnormal. If we didn’t do the testing my doctor said that was the Embryo they would have put in for transfer. It’s a lot of money but compared to the cost of the whole process I think it’s definitely worth it.

We did not knowing the cost and we got a bill for $31,000! Personally now I wished we hadnt but we were having losses that consisted of chromosone issues so we wanted to be on the safe side.

We didn’t do it the first time around with IVF where the egg retrieval was in October 2018. We got three grade A embryos and all of them have been miscarriages with genetic issues. 
We’re doing a second round of IVF in December and have decided to go through with the testing. I don’t know if it would have hurt more or less knowing up front that the embryos were abnormal. However, we wouldn’t have gone through the miscarriages if we would have known. It’s a tough decision.

We chose not to do it, because we just couldn't afford it. I have a history of recurrent pregnancy loss, so it would have been nice, but again, just not in our budget. We also had 5 day 5 blasts, so we would have had a few attempts. My RE suggested transfering 2, and I'm currently 24+2 with a healthy little girl. So I'm glad we didn't put ourselves in further debt.

I have blocked tubes and my husband swimmers are fine so based off that we decided to not do PGS testing.  We ended up with 4 to freeze and we transferred a 5aa and a 4aa and I am currently pregnant with only 1. I dont regret not doing it but it's all preference.

I'm about to start my first round and if we get more than 3 or 4 day 5 blastocysts we will be testing. We're investing a lot into this emotionally, physically and financially so even though it is an additional cost i think it will help give me some peace of mind. I really want to reduce my chances of miscarriage, even though I know it can happen to genetically normal embryos as well. Good luck with whatever you deicd to do!
