Officially an over supply but afraid to stop pumping 😫
I have a preemie and so he doesn’t eat much, 1-2 oz per feeding. He has to have fortified milk 4 times a day so I have to have at least 8 oz pumped for day feeds. I nurse him at night.
Well, I’m currently pumping about 40 oz a day 😫 I pumped twice overnight because he can’t empty me yet and struggles to latch when I’m engorged.
I didn’t even wear a bra his first two weeks of life because my supply was so well controlled and now I’m drowning in breast milk 😂
I have 64 - 3 oz bottles in one freezer that I had pumped at the hospital. 22 - 8 oz bottles from pumping at home. And now switched to bags and have no idea how many of those I have. And worse, I’ve not been “approved” to donate milk because I’m not far enough post partum! It could help so many preemies 😫
I’m afraid that if I stop pumping though, I won’t have enough milk for him once he grows. I’m so worried about having too little that I’m probably going to keep doing this no matter how exhausting 😬
