Delivery hospital delemia
Hello everyone, I have a minor problem with deciding what hospital I should deliver at. Im due November 4th with my rainbow baby and I'm super excited as is my fiance. We have been debating what to do about where to deliver as I really want a water birth and delayed cord clamping but thought the closest one was 50 minutes away that used hydrotherapy. Now about the hospitals and the issue. Hospital 1 has always been open and has great reviews throughout the hospital including the labor and delivery unit. They have 11 birthing units, 2 c-section op rooms, and 24 private recovery rooms. It's a beautiful hospital but then comes hospital 2. Hospital 2 was just taken over by a huge company about two years back and they gave it a huge makeover. The company decided it was going to reopen the labor and delivery unit that has been closed for at least a decade in october. They offer everything I wanted including water birth, birthing balls, and delayed cord clamping. Now there is a huge red flag to me with this hospital. The hospital allows you to labor, deliver, and recover in one room which sounds great but the unit only has 8 rooms total. This is my first baby and I'm not sure what to do. I love what hospital 2 offers but having such a small unit and just freshly being open makes me uneasy. Hospital one doesnt offer the water birth and I'm not aware if they encourage the delayed cord clamping. What would you ladies do or suggest.
Side note: my doctor delivers currently at hospital 1 but he sends me to some of the other company's facilities that own the other hospital. The hospital's are also 5 minutes from each other if even.
Edit: I will be checking into my doctors privileges for delivery. I wanted to ask other people's opinions in case he ended up with privileges at both hospitals.
