TMI GRAPHIC PICS Husband was in an accident.

Sarah

Saturday, we planned to have a pretty average day. His brother and sister in law came over, we bought nice steaks, and planned to have a couple drinks. My husband and his brother hopped on the side by side, and went on a ride. My sister in law and I were cooking the steaks, and my house phone rang. It was his brother, saying something was wrong with my husbands arm to get in the car they were walking back and needed to go to the hospital. My heart dropped. My husband walks down the driveway dripping in blood crying (I’ve never seen him cry in pain). I was the only one able to drive, I tried to get there so quickly. They put him in the hospital bed and 6 doctors/nurses rushed in connecting him to every machine, putting a neck brace on and IV in. We figured his arm was broken and he had a little abrasion on his head. They clear all of the breaks other than his wrist, and no brain bleeding. In the mean time my husband was complaining the neck brace was hurting his head. The doctor finally takes it off, and realizes he had a large “flap” on the back of his head. The doctor literally pulled up this “flap” and I thought I was going to pass out. It was like you lifted the lip of an envelope. The next hour was so excruciating for my dear husband. They had to staple the “flap” hshut. Every time the stapler clicked, it was like a lightning bolt shot from his head to his toes. He was so strong, I would have had to of been sedated had I been in that position. I never imagined watching him in so much pain. His wrist is broken to the joint, we have to wait another week to see if he will have to have a plate and screws out in his wrist.

Just wanted to share this, for awareness. Please wear a seat belt when driving any vehicle. If he would have been, he wouldn’t have been ejected from the side by side. Things could have been much worse, I could have been a widow after only a year of marriage. Hold your loved ones a little closer, life is so short and can be taken away in a blink of an eye.
