First Appointment 10/10

My obgyn clinic just called me back ( after 3 days) and scheduled me for my 1st appt on 10/10...8 weeks. That's forever away! They don't do confirmation appointments and said there's nothing to see before 8 weeks. The blood work and genetic testing will be done then too.

This is normal right? Or should I call somewhere else for confirmation?
