Anyone else have to get steroid shots to stop help the baby’s lungs develop. If so how long after did you guys end up giving birth? Was it full term or preterm?

With my oldest I never got the second shot they gave me the first one I was 35weeks I went home and woke around 6am to go pee and my water broke and the same thing with my second only he came at 34weeks and with my third I didn’t get it I got induced due to preeclampsia at 32weeks and now I’m on baby number 4 I haven’t had the need to need it just yet and I’m 35weeks hoping to go full term

It’s 2 shots called betamethasone given 24hrs apart from each other to help develop baby lungs. Doesn’t mean that baby will be born early or not it’s just for in case baby is born early. Some doctors give it for precaution if they think baby can come early.

With my last pregnancy I got them around 29 weeks and had my baby at 31 weeks. 
This pregnancy, I had preterm labor later in my 28th week and almost 31 weeks, hoping she stays in longer! They have me stronger meds this time tho which seems to be helping.

You need 2 shots, 12 hours apart. With my first my water broke at 34w6d and he was born at 35w exactly
