Is white privilege a real thing to you?

To start- I want to say that I'm white, and never knew I had privilege until I went to college. Raised in a small town, rural community, with literally 1 black person.

I realize that I'm privileged. And while I'll worked hard for everything I've done in my life, I know the door was open for me. All I had to do was walk through it.

I watched Chelsea Handlers documentary this evening, and I cant handle. I'm not actively doing anything to combat racism in this country (US). I see the terrible things on TV and it makes me sick, but you know what I do about it? Nothing.. I feel like I'm just as much the problem as my racist SOB neighbor.

So my question is- as a white person what can I do??

Also, for those of you who think there's no white privilege- are you white? And why do you believe that?
