Is white privilege a real thing to you?

To start- I want to say that I'm white, and never knew I had privilege until I went to college. Raised in a small town, rural community, with literally 1 black person. 
I realize that I'm privileged. And while I'll worked hard for everything I've done in my life, I know the door was open for me. All I had to do was walk through it.
I watched Chelsea Handlers documentary this evening, and I cant handle. I'm not actively doing anything to combat racism in this country (US). I see the terrible things on TV and it makes me sick, but you know what I do about it? Nothing.. I feel like I'm just as much the problem as my racist SOB neighbor. 
So my question is- as a white person what can I do?? 
Also, for those of you who think there's no white privilege- are you white? And why do you believe that?

I'm white and I completely see the systematic benifits..  my last name was an English name, then I married a latino and changed my name m, it was pretty amazing how different people become on the phone when I tell them my latino name... my school counselors of all people treated me a lot different.. seemed more dismissive over the phone until I saw them in person then they were very helpful... yeah it's there even if people dont believe in it...

I really started to really open my eyes to white privilege a few years ago when I moved into a very diverse neighborhood and started really witnessing firsthand how some of my neighbors who were POC were treated. There was one incident where someone called the police on my neighbor, a black man, for cutting our other neighbor's yard...they thought he was stealing a lawn mower 🤦‍♀️ and the time a white neighbor (who has a mental illness so I dont really fault him) had an episode and tried to tear the door off the hinges of another neighbor, a black family. and when the police arrived they interrogated the black family for an hour as if they did something wrong, instead of dealing with the actual issue. 
I grew up poor, I never considered myself privileged but I've certainly never had to deal with any shit like that. 
Anyways to those who dont see their privilege...I advise you to try to open your heart and ears and really listen to what minorities have to say on this subject. Look beyond your own defense mechanisms.

Yes it’s a real thing. Honestly I don’t know what more to do than vote. Use your voting rights to vote for people who believe in values like equity. I think recognizing you as a white person have privilege is actually really helpful

I’m black and worked I healthcare before.. my white coworkers treated white moms with Medicaid like gods but they trash talked and treated the minority moms with Medicaid different. And let me specify this was a CHILDRENS office. I felt terrible with how they treated black/Latino kids :( they would even make comments to me about some not speaking English so yes it’s a thing.

Yes white people do benefit from racial privilege even today. Black people only got civil rights a few decades ago, that kind of racism doesn’t just go away that quickly.

I seriously would like to know how you as a white person is considered privileged? And in what way.  Just curious. 
If I’m honest I don’t really pay attention to all the social crap going on in the world. I’m not saying it does or doesn’t exist. I don’t sit here and think oh white people get this and that. My boyfriend is white and nothing is being handed to him. He has to work for stuff just like everyone else. It’s also pointless to sit around thinking that because what are people doing to make it better instead of complaining?
There will always be racist people. I personally have never experienced someone being racist towards me, but I’m sure it doesn’t feel good. I’m saying stand up for people because it’s the right thing not because you have to.
