Gripe water for newborns?

Question

My baby is 12 days old, I'm breastfeeding and she started having troubles pooping. I can tell she has pain in her belly that keeps her awake most of the time, she makes noises, moving a lot and trying to push, it takes at least 30 minutes for her to poop. Would you use gripe water even if it says do not use for babies up to 1 month. If I can't use it is there anything else I can to help her ??

That sounds completely normal for such a young baby. It takes them a couple months to figure out their digestive systems. Try to be patient. I wouldn't give my baby anything, just rub their tummy (clockwise) and try to comfort them. Sometimes feeding helped my LO poop at that age. The sucking mechanism helps them go.

Maybe a windii Frieda. I’ve hear they can be really great for helping to get extra gases that can also cause the things your describing

Half an hour to poop isn't an issue. Half the time my LO would poop... Change her.. poop again... Change her. Poop again lol 
She's now 5 weeks and went 48 hours without pooping and was having discomfort last night and trouble sleeping.. THATS when I resorted to gripe water . Less then a month old they're just trying to figure it out !

No you shouldn’t give anything at this age. I started infants friend at 3.5 weeks, the one we have can be used that early, but before then we did warm baths, tummy massage, bicycles with the legs.
It’s biologically normal for them to be figuring out how to poop for the first few weeks it will be more effort for them.
It’s easier when breastfed as they’re very watery. My son went like 5 times a day every day in that first week haha.
Now he’s 7 months and goes with a smile on his face :3 you never know til you smell it hahah.
