Do you think blocking someone gives that person power? (Read)

So my friend has a really toxic ex and she keeps texting and calling him to fuck with him. She’ll apologize and beg him to get back together and then when he bites, she insults him and tells him she was kidding and would never get back together... (mind u this is immature af and she’s well in her 30s) I keep telling him to block her cause he obviously isn’t gonna get over her by allowing her to text him. He says that blocking her is giving her power over him and he’d rather just ignore her (though that obvs hasn’t been working)

I’ve never heard of that reasoning. (I think it’s backwards thinking but whatever. His choice)
