Should I Tell Friends We Are Trying?

Question

I've considered telling friends of mine and my husband's that we are trying to conceive. Should we or should we not? Why or why not? I need a little advice.

I was so excited when we decided to TTC, I told a few people.. Close friends, few people at work etc then my oh felt pressured and I got obsessed .. We decided to leave TTC for a bit and focus on us again which brought us closer and now we are TTC again but as a team with no pressure on either of us.. All the girls I told we were TTC are either pregnant or had babies since.. And we get putting looks even tho we decided to take a break! My advice would be not to but everyone is different x

I had 2 MC after trying for a year. Since most people knew we were TTC, they kept asking how everything was going before and after the first MC. It caused me so much stress, and I was upset all the time. I think they must have thought they were being supportive? I had another MC, and finally told people we weren't trying for a while. Of course, we still were. It was so much easier to have it just between us. I wasn't stressed, and didn't feel like people were constantly looking at me to be pregnant. Got pregnant after just a few months! We then waited until I was 15 weeks to announce it, and had several healthy check ups.

We told our friends and the day we told everyone we were pregnant we were going to surprise them, just 30 mins before we told them his friends asked me how everything was going with ttc and I had to tell him no luck yet and it'll happen when it happens. He was shocked when we spilled the beans

I have no problem telling people... I think it keeps them from asking about it because they figure once your pregnant you'll tell them that too.

I don't think so. I made that mistake and now that we have been trying for almost a year with no success, no one understands my emotion. I would just say keep it to yourselves.
