The Bridesmaid pt.1

It was Tony’s brother’s wedding day & he was one of the groomsmen. He was a tall, dark & handsome Texas boy & loved the wide open space. He hated that he had to come all the way to the city. He disliked the traffic & overpopulation. Big crowds always made him a bit nervous. He thought this weekend would be long & boring, but boy was he in for a surprise when he met her.

Summer was one of the bridesmaids. She was a city girl who looked like she had it all. She had long, dark hair that caught his eye right away. Tony was a shy guy & was too afraid to walk up to her. “Hot girls like that would never give me the time of day.” He thought...

Everyone was dressed & standing by for photographs when Summer started pinning on a boutonnière on Tony’s vest. Tony froze & felt his whole body go numb as Summer’s delicates hands glazed over his vest to arrange the floral boutonnière. She was struck by his handsomeness but was full of confidence & asked him to bend his knees so she could reach a little better.

Tony spoke up & said,”Glad you stepped up towards me cause you’re the one I wanted.” Summer stayed quiet, but still smiled as she finished off the pinning. She wasn’t sure what he meant exactly & ran off with the other bridesmaids. That phrase sounded a bit differently in his head than when it came out of his mouth. Maybe he shouldn’t have said anything at all.

Tony kept his sunglasses on so that he could stare at Summer while their pictures were being taken. He was always so awkward at meeting people.

After all the picture taking, it was finally time to line up for the ceremony. Tony was thinking of what to say as he took his time walking to Summer. As the pair finally stood next to each other, they started a ‘small talk’ conversation. They two talked about where they were both from. He found out Summer was from LA. Complete opposite of where he was from. Sure there were big cities in Texas, but he never went to any city unless it was absolutely necessary.

Summer: I’m Summer, I’ve known the bride since high school.

Tony: I’m the groom’s brother.

Summer: Older brother right?

Tony: *nods

Summer: isn’t it interesting they paired the tallest groomsmen with the shortest bridesmaid.

Tony: I’m glad it worked out in my favor.

After conversing a bit Tony motioned to link arms & she said,”Don’t you think it’s early. We still have a while til we actually start marching.” He replied,”It won’t hurt to practice.” So she agreed. Tony felt excited that she was holding his arm.

During their turn, Tony whispered to her, “I’ll try walking slowly so that I don’t end up pulling you along.” She said,”Thanks for your consideration.”

Tony was falling fast & hard for Summer & he couldn’t wait ‘til the ceremony was done so that he could get to know her better. Summer was starting to fall for Tony’s southern charm & was interested in getting to know this cowboy better as well. He wasn’t like other guys she’s met. He was real down to earth & kinda cute & hot at the same time.
