Can I ask to be induced?

Baby is measuring big and the first doctor that told me this said I might need a c-section. I want to avoid it if possible. Is it possible to request to be induced at my next growth scan if they still think this way?

My third ended in an emergency c section he was stuck and to be honest the surgery went great I freaked out cuz no one told me about them and the recovery was faster than my vaginals it was weirdly easy but don’t fear it it’s not as bad as it sounds good luck either way safest way is the best way

Nope I have tried. I have had two traumatic births previously one being rushed to theatre the second with him getting stuck and assistance needed. This third baba is measuring 7lb at 36 weeks and looking to be about 9lb at term, one consultant said we could discuss it as havin irregular contractions for 10 days one said nope they won't and it's only a few weeks of my life ot be in irregular pain for to get the end result. My second was 8lb and had shoulder dystocia so increased risk of it happen again, plus I'm group b strep positive on this one and there's a increased risk of her being big. But still no induction offered. Going to ask for one at 40 weeks as I don't want to be going over nor do I want a section.

You can always request. A lot of the time they will tell you no, the measurements can be way off and you don’t want to induce too early if baby is not ready. My first was measuring 2 weeks behind and they thought he was 6lbs, but he was 9lbs. It could really go either way. But they could always induce at 39 weeks to try to avoid c-section, if they’re comfortable with it and you ask! Good luck mama!

They can’t induce without medical need until 39wks and they told me my first two were gonna be 10lbs both induced at 39wks and first was 6lbs second was 7lbs my last one I had gd hypertension and constant pain and baby hadn’t shown any growth in 3wks so they induced at 35wks he measured 5lbs 11oz and was born at 37wks 1d 5lbs 13oz so it really can go any way but I’m being induced again at 37wks so in 20days bcz I have gd hypertension and severe migraines and still vomiting
