Never. They checked me when I came in and was in labor.
I have no clue why it's done anywhere else. It seems like a giant waste of time as it won't tell anything about when labor is coming anyway.

Never in my second pregnancy. Dilation means nothing until you're in active labor, most OBs won't actually check now unless you're having consistent true labor contractions.

Depends on the practice. Mine does 36 weeks but based on what I've learned about it not really telling much and also being painful, I'll probably end up asking them not to do it until I'm in labor

Mine checked my cervix from the middle of my 3rd trimester because my family has a history if big babies and early labor. I had my son at 37 weeks, i was 2cm that morning, went to the hospital for back pain a couple hours later and was 8.5cm.... No real consistent contractions just back pain.

i got checked at 34 weeks cause of contracrions i was 2cm 100 effaced and went back 35+1  weeks 6cm and in active labor
