Acne help?

Question

Since stopping bc and starting my ttc adventure my teenage acne has returned. It's terrible. I've tried Pro-Active, Soy Fresh Gentle Cleanser and a multitude of other cleansers. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have this same problem, plus I have PCOS which makes the acne even worse. I saw a dermatologist who prescribed a retinol cream, but nothing seems to help (been using the cream for 5 months). I also use tea tree oil face wash.

I had horrible skin as a teenager, and then took Acutane. I didn't have breakouts again until i got married and quit BC, around 26. It's not as horrible as it was, but I get hormonal breakouts right before AF on the sides of my chin. I discovered a new brand of skincare at Ulta called Exuviance, and I fell in love with it. I used it for months, and then gave in and got a clarisonic. That totally changed the game!! I use that, plus BB cream for daytime and then Clairins moisturizer at night. For breakouts, I used spot treatments that have sulfur, and it usually clears up.  I've started getting facials too, and that seems to help a lot. There is a cosmetology school nearby that has an esthetics program and the cutest little spa. It's like $30 for the same thing I used to pay $100 for!! I recommend the spa school to everyone who normally wouldn't spend $$ on going to the spa!

I also got really bad acne after stopping BC, and it of course gets worse right before period. And to make it worse, wearing sunscreen this summer did not help! Trying a mix of witch hazel and tea tree oil after removing make up

I broke out really bad after pill so tried clearisil face wash. Within a week it has really cleared up and just have a few pimples now which I can cope with!!

I have very oily skin so acne was always a problem for me. But I haven't had any pimples for a while. I wash my face morning and night with Clean and Clear grapefruit cleanser and then I swab my fave with either Clinique Clarifying Toner or Origins Zero Oil. Also, I have been clearing off my make-up with good old fashioned Ponds which has worked really great. Also, be sure to keep your hands out of your face, any bacteria and dirt will transfer and cause problems. Hope this helps!!

I did some research, but didn't want to buy the expensive proactive. I wash my face twice a day with clarasil daily face wash, change my pillow case weekly, keep my hands off my face, sleep with socks on my hands, because I like to put my hand between my face and pillow. I bought the $20 nutrigina microdermabrasion thing with the removable pads. It just vibrates and smells good, but used as instructed, I think that has helped the most with the scars. I also use clarasil in the small tube 2-3 times a day for the pimples that start. I'm not into all these chemicals, but I have a cruise coming up and wanted fast results for the photos. It's working.

It's likely from hormones and stopping bc. Personally, I switched to the oils cleansing method, and then use all chemical fee products. I was with OCM or raw honey. Then apply essential oils to areas that need it. I use certain ones for dry acne, or more   difficult break outs. I use coconut oil or hemp oil as mositirizer. It's helped. Granted, my acne is due to fertilty hormones.

Yep, I had this problem too. Never had problems with my skin the odd spot evey now and then.
​It's the change in hormones. I bought products from the origins range which are great and seem to be clearing my skin up nicely

I switched to a sulfur face wash and microderm face cleanser by Roden and fields. It's expensive but I love it. I was in retiniod and benzyl peroxide and a topical antibiotic but after I had my iud removed the acne eased up a bit. I takes with my dermatologist and he said the sulfur wash was safer for TTC/if I get pregnant.

Oh man I am right here with you. I miss my pill so much. I've got huge, horrible cystic zits all over my face and I'm so embarassed by it. I'm too old for this!
