I’m scared 😳 second baby, second c section but I have NEVER seen this?!

Question

Had my second baby yesterday via c section. She’s beautiful and perfect, but now I’m stressing because I was told I have to go get the stitches removed. Okay fine. Well, the stitches are INSIDE and they are attached to a blue STRING on the outside of my stomach!! WTF?! This is going to be painful right? I’m going to scream?! I’m stressing out someone tell me they’ve seen this before?! This doctor is older he has always been great and always goes
Highly recommended. Ease my mind this isn’t going to be as bad as I think right?!

stitches are out!! Just burned a little! (Imagine pulling a piece of string through your skin 😳) not bad at all!!! Thanks everyone 😊

Getting stitches removed should be painless. I always had dissolvable stitches with my c-sections, but I’ve had stitches removed for other surgeries and it didn’t hurt at all! I actually think it feels good in a weird way! You can always take ibuprofen ahead of time if you are concerned but it should be one little snip and they pull it out.

I never had these. I’ve had 2 c sections as well but with dissolvable stitches and steri strips taped on top. I hope everything goes pain free for you

I had these stitches with my c-section. It just feels like a fly bite while removing tbh. You will feel really relaxed after. They tell you to take a deep breath and they pull It In one go.

You will be fine. I had staples and didn’t feel them being removed as I still felt numb. Don’t stress stitches are easy I’ve had many surgeries and incision looks nice and clean :)

I have had many stitches removed and it didn’t hurt. I had some that were supposed to dissolve and didn’t and I removed those. It is a weird feeling it not painful.

I don’t know about stitches being painful to remove, but I had actual staples with my first, and though most of them didn’t hurt when they were removed, the “anchor one” (in the middle holding everything together) hurt so very much when it was removed. I’m sure yours should be painless.

I had three sets of stitches removed in my right knee after having surgery. It was painless. The area was still numb to the touch too. I know it’s a different area, but hopefully this helps to ease your mind a bit.

I had these kind of stitches, not from a c section but from a mole removal on my chest. I was worried it would be painful  but it really wasnt if that helps at all (probably not as its not the same context but hopefully a little)xx
