Is it safe to get a tattoo while breast feeding??

I gave birth 4 days ago. My tattoo artist is moving away and I want to get one last tattoo before he moves. Is it safe?

My brother in law is professional tattoo artist and he says it’s not okay because  of the ink. I’ve been trying to get a tattoo for the longest time but since I’m still nursing my son he won’t do it and most places here in Arizona who are professionals won’t do it either.

Yes lol. The only risk is infection which is as rare as getting listeria from lunch meat. You need to make sure the tattoo parlor is clean and they’re using brand new needles and clean ink.

If it’s a clean shop and an artist you trust, there’s no reason not to. Some shops do have policies against it, though. I’ve already talked to my artist and scheduled an appointment for three months post partum to get a piece we planned out before I found out I was pregnant

Some tattoo artist won’t tattoo you if your breastfeeding. Think one of them things where you have to look at the risks and see if it worth doing or waiting till you stopped breastfeeding. 😊
