Ava enjoyed the sunflower field dedicated to all those lost after battling childhood cancer today. To say that I wasn’t an emotional wreck after leaving the field is an understatement. I was walking around balling my eyes out. They had picket signs with children’s pictures on it, their name, year of birth and death. The thought of losing a child, especially to something as painful as cancer is unfathomable. My heart aches for the families who lost a child to this terrible disease.
