Should I ask for an ultrasound at my first prenatal appointment? I’ll be 8 weeks. Just worried about baby being in the right spot/ having a heart beat.

You would need to schedule the ultrasound beforehand they wont just be able to do it if you ask that day. So I would call and ask now or being it up when making the appointment.

Most drs won’t do an ultrasound that early unless there is bleeding or pain or you are high risk but there’s no harm in asking the worst they can do is tell you no 🤷🏼‍♀️ I do no some free clinics or resource centers will do a free ultrasound that early

Most doctors do an ultrasound at the first appointment to confirm dating and all that. But if your doctor doesn’t, it couldn’t hurt to ask.

I would ask. The first obgyn I seen with my first, I never got a ultrasound early. This baby I'm seeing a different obgyn and I didn't expect to get any ultrasounds early, I got one at 8 weeks at my first appt to confirm pregnancy, see where baby is and measurements. I went again at 12 weeks and also got a ultrasound, again for measurements and making sure everything is good. I'm not high risk at all or anything either. It just depends on the obgyn, some do ultrasounds earl,some dont.

I think they should do them for the nuchal Translucency measurement. ? After week 13 they can’t do them anymore. I think. Maybe look into it?
