Ridiculous a** name ?

Sorry everyone, my title was a little clickbait. My partner and I were thinking about the name Benji if we have a boy. I was just wanting opinions on how y’all would think this would be or sound when he would be an adult. Nobody’s opinion will personal change my mind if I really end up falling in love with the name. I was having thoughts about how it would be, so figured I’d get some opinions. Thanks in advance. 💓

To me it doesn’t age well, it’s more of a cutesy nickname. 
I’d suggest naming him Benjamin and calling him Benji as a kid if you want.

I'd name him Benjamin with nickname Benji. You get the cute nickname now but the full name ages perfectly into adulthood. My nephew is Benjamin and we call him Benny. I assume at some point he will go by Ben or Benjamin. But for now, at 12 mos, Benny is adorable.

Everything that everyone has said so far. Benji is my favorite nickname for Benjamin, but I would never name a child solely Benji.

I love it! We have a ton of Benjamin’s in my family and one always goes by Benji. He’s now in his mid 20s and a businessman. Everyone still calls him Benji

My husbands brother is Benjamin and he goes by Benji. Personally I think it’s a cute nickname for when they’re young but he’s about to graduate high school and I don’t think it fits him anymore.

Have your husband introduce himself to you as “Benji” and see what you think. If he sounds stupid, chances are your son will too. I have no opinion either way on the name but this tactic saved me from many “cute” names that didn’t age well.
