Does Your Baby Sleep Better When It’s Colder?

Charlotte

Since my

Little guy was born, I’ve been obsessive about the temperature in our house and what he wears. My husband has maintained that our son is warm-blooded, like him. After he started day care, our provider told us he really loves sleeping in cold air (she sets her thermostat at 68, and he basically sleeps under the vent). But when I pick him up, he is cold to the touch. Finally, I started trying it at home and it’s true. He sleeps way better (longer and less restlessly) when it’s colder. So, we usually aim for 68 in the house and have him in a footed sleeper with a light sleep sack over it. However, my husband and daycare provider thinks that is too warm for him. Again, I realize he sleeps better but it makes me nervous that his arms and feet are so dang cold! Am I nervous for no reason? Should I just go with what my baby’s actions say? I mean, he would indicate if he was uncomfortable, right?
