No period from Provera and now bleeding on femara

Hi ladies, I have a history of miscarriages and generally not getting pregnant easily (for various reasons).

My dr gave me clomid last month to help speed up getting pregnant and oddly enough, it caused me to not ovulate at all so the dr prescribed 10 days of provera to induce my period and said that the first day after the last pill would be considered the first day of my period (even if I didn’t actually start to bleed).

Fast forward- I take the femara, last night was my last dose and yesterday I started dark spotting and today (cd8) full on heavy period.

Does that mean this cycle is a fail? How can I actually ovulate properly if I’m shedding the whole lining?!

I guess I don’t understand what all these pills are supposed to do!
