We had an ultrasound today (28w5d) and found out our boy is 3lbs 7oz and 16-17inches long. He is currently in the 90th percentile for his size (he was in the 70th percentile at his 20 week check up). He is head down and already has hair!

I’m a solidly average sized human. I’m 5’5 and 165lbs (145lbs pre-pregnancy). My husband’s side of the family has a history of large babies. My doctor said that if baby continues on to be this large, we may want to consider have an elective primary c-section.

Has anyone had this experience? Did your babies continue on to grow to be larger, 8/9+ pounds? Did their growth rate slow to be closer to average?

If you elected to have a c-section because of a large baby, were you happy with your choice? Did you regret not having a vaginal birth?
