October baby turned September 💕
Monday 9/16 I went for a routine appointment at the OB. I had been feeling a little off lately with dizzy spells and higher blood pressure. Turns out, I had a ton of sugar and some protein in my urine. My fluid was also high, and they were concerned about the size of the baby. I was 37+4. My OB questioned sending me to L and D that day, but decided to do some more testing since I was a couple weeks early. She took some blood and all day Tuesday I did a 24 hour urine catch, and was told she wanted to see me back on wednesday. Wednesday comes, I go to the office and give my urine. Again, protein and sugar are found but my blood results came back completely fine. My husband and I basically begged for an induction because I just didn’t feel right and I felt as if something bad may happen. My doctor scheduled me for an induction on 9/26 at exactly 39 weeks and put me on bed rest till then. My husband and I left the office a little uneasy, but happy we had a date set.
I had gone home and was feeling pretty down about being on bed rest. At about 4pm (2 hours into bed rest) I was laying there thinking to myself how long the week was going to take. All of a sudden I heard and felt a pop. At that moment I said, “wtf” but I knew what had happened. I stood up and my water poured out of me. My husband had gone back to work, so I immediately called him and said, “uh Chris. My water just broke.” He said, “I’m on my way !” I could hear him running , breathless 😂 And he proceeded to call me multiple times on his way home. I alerted the rest of my family and waited for my husband to get home. At that point I had felt pretty good. Contractions started super light at about 4:30pm. I grabbed a few things around the house, my husband got home, and we headed for the hospital.
I labored in the hospital on 9/18. Contractions increased like normal. I had to have two epidurals because the first one didn’t work on my right side. I was crying in pain from my contractions even after the first epidural. It took some convincing but they finally redid it. (Can’t wait to see that bill !) My blood pressure climbed between my epidurals to dangerously high. I was put on oxygen. I was finally able to start pushing at 11:16am on 9/19 at exactly 38 weeks. Felt like I had to take the worst poop of my LIFE 😂 Our baby girl, Quinn James was born at 11:54pm at 6lbs 14oz.
She’s now 5 days old. It’s been a struggle but we are learning every day ! ... andddd all night long 😅😭
